On my recent visit back to Fresno (my hometown) I was wandering through the remnants of an old scene long since dead with some of Fresno's finest. When I got back to L.A. I started thinking about the city's punk scene, a history stretching back to the late 70's & early 80's. The scene in Fresno is and has always been the coming together of all types of music and styles, the skins, punks, hippies, preps, and even bums have made Fresno a go-to destination for the underground music scenes trashiest of the trashy. In 1986 Black Flag's Henry Rollins slapped/punched a girl in the audience at a show in Fresno, the band left the show getting pelted by beer bottles and harsh words, it was the last show they ever played in Fresno. Here are some surviving pics of the 84 scene kids.
