ARTIST, fashionISTA, and good friend, Leonardo Mora, uses pop images, darts, water balloons filled with colors, wax, and boards to create interactive paint by number pieces that have changed expectations about how people look at space in the white cube art gallery. The images, stunningly beautiful, are revealed every time someone manages to pop (no pun intended) one of the balloons located of the piece. In the past he has used icons like, Alex (A Clockwork Orange), Joker (as played by Heath Ledger in Batman), Che Guevara, and most recently one of John Waters' most notorious dreamland character, Divine.
At his last show Leonardo divided the image into parts, mixed them up and put them together in the end, emphasizing the paint by numbers idea. Here are some of the images I managed to put together from last night's kick ass show. Follow Leo on twitter (@jizzymcguire).
